Chapter 1

I hurried out into the crisp, autumn air. My barefeet stung as I raced to the house. I had just finished my morning chores at our small chicken coop.
"What's the rush?" asked father as I nearly ran him over. I exclaimed, "Mother said I could go out exploring!"
I opened the old, heavy wooden door that had elvs carved into it. Our stone fireplace sent shadows along the stone walls. I climbed up the wooden ladder up into the loft, which was my room that I shared with Adara and Tara. I dug through our trunk and found my adventure skirt. It was mud stained and ripped in some places. I quickly changed, put my boots on, and through on my dad's old jacket. Silently, I climbed back down the ladder. I didn't want any of my sisters to see me, or I'd have to take them with me.
I tip-toed into the living room, and into the kitchen. I grabbed a towel and wrapped some fresh rolls in it. Then, I quietly slipped out the kitchen door.
I breathed in the outside air as I tried to decide which way to go. I pulled out my compass and decided to go west.
We didn't have any horses, so I set off on foot. I walked over clover field after clover field. Once I got past those, I went through a pasture. The grass was so green, the sky was so blue, the creek was crashing, and that fire was so... FIRE?
I look into the dry, spooky woods that I had avoided. There was smoke streaming from them. I saw flames and didn't know what to do. I looked around, trying to see if there were any homes near by to get help. Just across the ragging creek, I saw a large house. There certainly would be help there! I screamed and screamed but no one came out.
I hurried to the creek. I put my foot in and the current just about swept me off my feet. The smoke was getting thicker and I could feel the heat from the flames. I picked up a thick stick and stuck it into the mud at the bottom of the creek. I held my breath and jumped in. I trudged across the creek, using the stick to hold me up. The icy water sent goose bumps up me. I slipped on a stone and fell SPLASH! into the water! Mud was all over me and the current was pushing me under the water. I dug my feet into the mud and pushed myself up. Finally, I made it across. My hair had scum and mud in it, my face had gone white from the cold water, and my leg was bleeding from falling on a sharp rock. Exhausted, I ran to the house. I yelled, "Help! Fire! In the woods...!" A butler came rushing from the house. I exclaimed out of breath, "Fire!" and I pointed across the creek. The butler ran inside and soon a whole bunch of workers, stable boys, and more butlers came running from house with bucks to fill at the creek. I would have ran to helped them, but when I stood my leg trobbed. I ripped some of the end of my skirt and tied it around my wounded leg.
A beautiful young girl, probably eleven, came striding out the front door. She flipped her blond hair and stared up at the sky with her blue eye's.
She glanced over at me and exclaimed, "Oh goodness! What happened to you?" She rushed over to me. She helped me to my feet.
She saw my bloody leg and let out a shriek. She grabbed my hand and hurried me to the huge house.
"Mother!" she called. A gorgeous woman hurried down a flight of stairs answering, "Yes, my angel?" Her mother saw me and let out a shriek, identical to her daughters. "We must clean you up right away!" Before I could agree, a young guy came into the house and saw me. He smiled and introduced himself as Austin Knightly. I introduced myself, and quickly he asked if I was alright. I laughed and said, "Yes, I fell in the creek while coming to warn about the forest fire." He exclaimed, "Oh! Yes! The fire! I came to get more buckets! Do you have any?" The mother shook her head and hurried through doors leading to a kitchen.
The eleven year old girl kept smiling at Austin and trying to have conversation with him. He was polite, but I could tell he was annoyed. The mother came in and said, "Here you go, deary." The sixteen year old boy looked terribly embarrassed as he thanked her and rushed out the front door.

About me...

One lazy day, I decided to write a book. Even though I have a great imagination, I couldn't think of anything to write on! Then I got an idea. Why not base a book off of my life? But I didn't want to go through all that hard work for no one to read my book. It would most likely never be published since I deffilently am no author.
So, I thought, why not write a book on a blog? That way people can read it without it having to be published.  I will use fake names, put dragons and ogres in, and turn my normal life into a story. Yes, this is based on a true story. I am not a writer so please bear with me.  I hope you enjoy!

I am going to take a quick minute to tell you about me.  I am the oldest, and my name is Gwendolyn. My age is fifteen, and I have sort of long hair. It is a dark brown with some golden streaks in it. My eye's are a mix of green and brown. I have always had a love for dragons, and I am very dramatic. I love adventure and am always ready for a good laugh. I dream of living a fairy tale, but sometimes doubt that there are such things as happily ever afters.
I have four sisters, and my mom is pregnet.  Adara is my eleven year old sister. She has auburn hair and bright blue eye's that are the exact colour of the sky. Tara is eight. She has blond curly hair and grey eye's that shine like stars. Mali is five. She has black silky hair and bright green eye's. Lara is my three years old sister. She has very light brown hair and dark, chocolately eye's.

About a week ago I moved somewhere far, far away. I left behind my three best friends, and my horse Castella. My dad, mom, four sisters and I moved into a little cottage on a farm. The dark and spooky woods, the sparkling blue lakes, and the rolling golden hills were just waiting to be explored...

I hope you enjoy reading about my life! =D
